Kuleba Resigns along with 4 more Ministers: Zelenskyy Orders reshuffle in Ukrainian Ministries
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba resigns. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered a significant government reorganization, which has resulted in the resignation of Dmytro Kuleba, who has been working as the foreign minister of Ukraine. The development has come up at a critical point in the 30-month war against Russia.
The 43-year-old Kuleba was a well-known representative of Ukraine abroad, lobbying with world leaders and advocating for military and political support. His fluency in English resonated well with western leaders & eased the intense war-time diplomacy that was needed, under the circumstances.
According to Zelenskyy, the administration had to adapt & transform to provide the outcomes that Ukraine required.
“Autumn will be extremely important for Ukraine. And our state institutions should be configured so that Ukraine achieves all the results that we need — for all of us”– Volodymyr Zelenskyy- President, Ukraine

In addition to Foreign Minister Kuleba, several other high ranking personnels also tendered their resignations to facilitate re-configuration of the Ukrainian Government. It is not clear yet, if the outgoing officials will assume different portfolios or higher ranks, as of now.
Other high-profile Officials, who have become casualties in this reshuffle, are as follows:
- Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries
- Denys Maliuska, Minister of Justice
- Ruslan Strilets, Minister of Environmental Protection
- Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister
- Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister
- Vitaliy Koval, Head of Ukraine’s State Property Fund
In the war front, situation is dynamic & not a stalemate. There is a renewed surge of attacks & counterattacks visible in recent weeks. Ukraine has captured Russian territories in Kursk. Recently, Ukraine had also unleashed a major mass drone attack on Russian energy infrastructure.
In reaction, Russia is moving forces towards Ukrainian region of Pokrovsk. Russia has amplified missile and drone attacks in several regions & towns in Ukraine including Kiev. In a recent missile attack on Poltava, Russian army has inflicted a casualty to the tune of 50 on Ukrainian side.
“I will continue working in the defense sector but in a different role”– Kamyshin
Olha Stefanishyna, Dy PM of Ukraine, who has been leading Ukraine’s efforts to join NATO & European Union is expected to assume a more critical, bigger role, as part of this re-configuration.
The President of Ukraine, who is expected to visit United States soon, plans to present a victory plan to US administration, which reportedly includes future approaches on counter-offensive operations, efforts on reclaiming lost territories, diplomatic maneuvers, post war economic measures. He aims to take US into confidence on the future of Ukraine in terms of victory & post war economy.
Russia has dismissed this news and showed their low confidence on Ukraine government intentions to end the war & confirmed that Russia will continue their military operations in Ukraine, till they achieve all the goals.
US is visibly cautious & optimistic on Ukraine’s plans to end the war, entailing victory prospects and post-war restoration works. Since the war has commenced, President Biden has been consistent & balanced on his intentions that US will continue to send military aid, share intelligence to Ukraine to defend their own territory and will also support in economic recovery efforts.
Hopefully, this reshuffle in Ukraine Government, with redistributed responsibilities & fresh leaders will work together to generate effective plans, streamline the roles, re-invigorate international alliance strategy, defense manufacturing & aggressively go ahead to end the war.
